European Geothermal Energy Council and the main event sponsor Enel Green Power are pleased to announce the European Geothermal Congress 2013 event. The event will take place 3-7 June 2013 at Palazzo dei Congressi in Pisa, Italy, and will be heldunder the auspices of the International Geothermal Association – European Regional Branch, which will also set up the Scientific Committee for the Congress.
The European Geothermal Congress 2013 will bring together the entire geothermal sector (science, research, education, industry, finance, investors, policymakers, authorities – you name it) to one place for a premium 5-day event. The agenda will include conference sessions, workshops and seminars to present and discuss new developments in science, technology, industry, and policy of geothermal energy in Europe; side events organised by EU-funded projects are also planned, as is a site visit and a celebratory event at the geothermal site in Lardello, Italy, in honour of the anniversary of the first geothermal electricity production dating back to 1913.
The past European Geothermal Congresses (EGC) provided the marketplace for research results, practical experiences, new ideas, and they allowed an assessment on where geothermal energy development in Europe stood at their time, and stands now. So after EGC 1999 in Basel (Switzerland), EGC 2003 in Szeged (Hungary), and EGC 2007 in Unterhaching (Germany), the new EGC 2013 is eagerly awaited and much requested by the geothermal sector in Europe. So come and join us at EGC 2013 in Pisa, Italy!
