Power

The Portuguese electricity generation park has undergone a paradigm shift with regard to the origin of the main sources of supply in the past two decades.

As of 2005, there was a gradual increase in the installed renewable power, with the power generation park now having 52% more installed power than that verified that year. In turn, since 2011 the installed fossil power has been showing a reduction that was even more evident in 2021 with the deactivation of the Sines and Pego plants.
