Morocco
As one of the early adopters of renewable energy in North Africa, Morocco will look to deploy about 1.5 GW of solar and wind capacity to target 42% renewables by 2020, and rising to 52% by 2030, with the development around 500-700MW toward solar and the same for wind.
Tunisia
In May 2018, Tunisia issued two renewable energy tenders totaling 1GW, including a tender for 500MW of solar PV and 500MW of onshore wind.
Algeria
In the early of 2018, Algeria has announced that up to 170MW of wind and solar power will be tendered in the near future. In November, the Algerian Minister of Energy, Mustapha Guitouni said Algeria aims to produce 22,000 MW of electricity from renewable sources by 2030. The 1st phase involves 400 MW of solar energy.
