12.05.2026 – BioImpacte+ | Paredes de Coura
The second edition of the BioImpacte+ project, an initiative of APREN in partnership with BE Bioinsight & Ecoa | PT, took place in Paredes de Coura, with the support of the Paredes de Coura City Council and ACHLI – Association for the Conservation of the Iberian Wolf Habitat.
The BioImpacte+ project aims to highlight the contribution of the renewable energy sector to biodiversity and the sustainable development of territories. This edition provided an opportunity to learn firsthand about the impact of the work developed by ACHLI over the last 20 years in nature conservation and the protection of the Iberian wolf. The session was opened by the Mayor of Paredes de Coura, Tiago Cunha, and included presentations by Susana Serôdio and Miguel RT Mascarenhas, who presented the BioImpacte+ project, and by José Miguel Oliveira, who showcased the development of the Alto Minho I Wind Farm. Gonçalo Brotas and Cindy Loureiro, from ACHLI, presented the work developed by the association, highlighting the projects, results, and positive impact of its activity in the territory. Representatives from parish councils and residents' associations in the area, local residents, renewable energy promoters, representatives from state energy entities, representatives from Regional Coordination and Development Commissions (CCDRs) from various parts of the country, and other relevant stakeholders were present at the event.
